PaperWise has 3 key principles for the paper
mills that produce PaperWise: agricultural
waste is raw material, consistently high
quality and Corporate Social Responsibility.
To audit these key principles, PaperWise
visit the production sites on a regular
base. These visits are also set up to
discuss innovations, product development,
upcoming European regulations, and to
maintain good relationships. The quality of
PaperWise paper and the relationship with
the employees at the mills are of paramount
importance. PaperWise is always innovating
from the desire to give a second life to as
much agricultural waste as possible and
provide the market with a wide range of
sustainable paper and board.

IN NUMBERS
Since PaperWise was founded in 2015,
we have, together with all our customers,
given more than 13.7 million kilos of
agricultural waste a second life as paper
and board for packaging, printing and copy
paper. This means:
We have collectively left 110144
trees standing. Together 1530
hectares of deforestation has been
prevented. An area the size of 2275
football fields.
We have saved 20.6 million kilos
CO₂-equivalent by not burning
agricultural waste in the field.
This amount of CO₂-equivalent is
equal to driving around the world
4224 times with an average car.

SOME FUN
FACTS
Inspired by the principle "nature knows no waste," we
are wise with agricultural waste. By transforming it into
sustainable, socially responsible, paper. PaperWise
strives to reduce paper use where possible. If you use
paper, choose wisely. PaperWise—Wise With Waste.
WHY THE NAME PAPERWISE?
The most common tree species have growth cycles of
12-80 years. Why let a tree grow for só long and then
cut it down, when agricultural waste -a by product of
agriculture- comes available every year?
HOW LONG DOES A TREE GROW
BEFORE IT BECOMES PAPER?
Paper has existed for 5000 years. For 4850 years it has
been made from... plant residues! The Egyptians started
making paper from the stems of the papyrus plant. The
concept of using trees to make paper has only existed
for 150 years.
HAVE WE ALWAYS CUT DOWN

At PaperWise, we use three important starting points for the factories that produce PaperWise: 1) agri-
cultural waste as a raw material, 2) consistently high quality ánd 3) the factories must have focus and
policy on corporate social responsibility. As example, PaperWise copy paper is made in a factory that:
FACTORY
INSIGHTS
collaborates
with tens of
thousands of
small-scale
farmers
offers sports
facilities, incl.
football, tennis
& athletics
only uses river water to
maintain the groundwater
level for the farmer
has its own wind
farm and 2 bio-
fermentation
installations for 100%
green energy
facilitates a hospital
on the factory site for
employees and local
residents
has 2 schools on the
factory site, where
2400 children attend

PaperWise believes in a sustainable world
where circularity, inclusivity and respect
for everyone and everything are central.
We want to contribute positively to a better
world. The United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals are our compass and
nature is our inspiration. Nature knows no
waste. PaperWise believes in agricultural
waste as a raw material for paper and board.
We envision a world of tomorrow, where
secondary raw materials álways take
precedence
over
primary
resources.
Especially when the quality of the products
is equal to, or even exceeds, that of virgin
materials. A future where recycling is the
norm, with no loss in value, and where
upcycling leads the way.
A inclusive world, with fair chances for
everyone is what we seek. A bright future
powered by regenerative business practices
where companies contribute to the planet's
healing. A world where production
standards are continuously improved,
lowering environmental footprints, and
where CO2-neutral production is the
baseline, not the endpoint. This is the future
PaperWise is committed to build.
Today, we stand proud knowing that
PaperWise is 47% better for the environment
than tree-based paper and 29% better than
recycled paper. Yet, we know our journey is
ongoing.
JOIN OUR WORLD
OF TOMORROW
One of our dreams is for áll children in
school to learn that paper is made from
agricultural waste. We need our brand
awareness and volume to grow, so with,
the impact we make: less environmental
pollution, less deforestation, less waste of
valuable resources and less poverty. This
is within reach by activating more people,
more companies, to choose wisely.
We are exploring ways to make our
production even more sustainable. A key
mileston is bringing production as close as
possible to our customers worldwide.
PaperWise dreams of a world where
circularity is second nature and agricultural
waste plays a vital role in building a
sustainable future. But we can’t do it alone.
It’s only together that we turn the industry.
For the past 10 years we have been working
on this together with our customers, who
-like us- believe in a better world.
It is thése people and companies that have
made PaperWise possible and continue to
do so. We would like to express our special
gratitude to them for the trust they have
placed in us. Do you want to join as well?
Get in touch with us to explore how we can
create a better future together.
